The first thing I noticed was your chipped front tooth. You tried hiding your teeth while smiling because you were painfully conscious of your broken tooth. Then I observed how you kept wiping your face as if to make those pimples disappear. You were trying to look your best in front of me. But you know what? When you laughed like a mountain stream on one of my comments, or spoke with a child’s enthusiasm about your art, or listened intently about my favorite music, it was during those times that I fell for you. And while falling for you, I realized that those imperfections that you were trying to hide, made me love you even more.
A good account of how love encompasses the whole of the beloved, even when they doubt their own attractiveness.
