Lets Help Empower Women By Donating To The Project Why Sewing Circle

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.””
~ Fred Rogers
I’ve known Damyanti for a couple of years through the Facebook page of Wrimo India. Since then, we’ve been in touch. Hence, when I saw her post about her visiting Delhi, I really wanted to meet her. When she mentioned that she is coming all the way from Singapore to Delhi to work with an NGO called Project WHY, needless to say my reverence for her increased manifold.
This organization, does some awe inspiring work for the underprivileged communities of New Delhi. I recently visited their Govindpuri Center and witnessed the wonderful work that they’re doing with children there. The organization that is 18 years old now is headed by founder Anouradha Bakshi, who is a phenomenal woman.
Today Project Why wants to Empower Some More Women and for that it needs our help.

Renu Karotia is thethe lady who heads the Project Why Sewing Circle which was established in 2007. The Sewing Circle aims to empower underprivileged women. Renu herself fought against all odds to become a financially independent woman who running her family today. You can watch her full story on the fundraiser page.

With our help more women can be similarly empowered. The Fundraiser aims to equip Renu with all the resources she needs to run the Sewing Circle and train other women.

You can donate in different currencies like USD and pounds–just change the currency at the top right of the screen.

Please donate a few dollars/ pounds/ euros/rupees: the price of a coffee or a meal in your currency. It would go a long way in helping a bunch of very hard-working women find employment and a chance at taking control of their own lives.

If you are in the U.S., you can also donate to Project Why via Omprakash  which is a tax-exempt non-profit organization registered under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. They take PayPal. Just add a comment that you’re donating for the Project Why SEWING CIRCLE fundraiser.

Share the SEWING CIRCLE FUNDRAISER on social media using the hashtag #ProjectWhyDelhi . Each share leads to at least 3 donations!
